Two of my longtime blogging buddies have novel news this week, and I'm happy to help them spread the word. I'm sure you've seen these around, but I wanted to do my part, too, and today is the first opportunity I've had. Most times I think being late is hardwired into my DNA.
First, Laura Eno's cover reveal. If you don't know her yet, here's your chance to zip over to her blog and meet her, besides just seeing her picture here.
Laura is a sweetheart, but beware of Jezebel and Mistress Snark.
You've been warned :)
Laura's newest book is Jewel of Shaylar, an epic fantasy ... coming soon. Check out this chilling cover:
Archaeologist
David Alexander investigates the cave where his father disappeared and hurtles
into another world, one filled with magic and bizarre creatures. The mad
ravings in his father's journals of icemen and dragons may not be fantasies
after all.
Convinced his
father may still be alive, David begins a treacherous journey to find him and
discover a way home. Along the way, he encounters a few unlikely friends. A
Dreean warrior, a beautiful thief and a satyr join him as he searches.
And second, Ciara Knight's release of Escapement.
Before I show you the cover, you HAVE to watch this amazing trailer on You Tube. I'll wait - the trailer's not long. In fact, I think I'll watch it again, too.
Didn't you love it!
“A heady mix of action adventure and
steampunk -- leavened with a dash of romance -- ESCAPEMENT offers up its fair
share of thrills, horrors and heart-pounding moments. A strong start to a
captivating new series.”
-- Jana Oliver, author of The Demon
Trapper's Daughter
You can download a free copy of Weighted, a prequel to the Neumarian Chronicles, at Amazon.
If you are intrigued and wish to follow
the uprising, Escapement, book I of The Neumarian Chronicles, will be available at Amazon for
only $2.99 until March 1, 2013.

Laura's cover rocks and got to read a review copy of Ciara's book - it's great!
Both covers are beautiful.
LOve the cover art of both. And the blurb for Jewel of Shaylar is one of the best I've read in a long time.
Thanks so much, Carol! Jezebel is preening now, thanks to your warning. ;)
Three cheers for Ciara!
I'm bowing over at Em-Musing right now for her comment. That blurb caused me many anxious moments and I'm thrilled to hear I got it right - after submitting it to a wonderful group of writers to pick apart. :)
Congrats to both ladies. Love their covers so much.

Melissa - They're doing a great job!
Helena - I think the stories sound great, too.
We have always heard the saying don't judge a book by it's cover but lets be honest we all pretty much do just that.......well I do........
As I said to Laura last night - drat you. And you can now consider yourself also dratted. I really, really shouldn't get any more books until my to-read pile reaches less humungous proportions. And now you have also put serious temptation in my way. It became clear that I would have to purchase Laura's book and now Ciara Knight's is also pleading to move in with me. As I say (being a well brought up woman) drat you.
Jo-Anne - For me it's cover, title, back-of-the-book blurb, and the first few paragraphs. They all have to be there.
Elephant's Child - I do believe this is the best "drat you" I've ever received :)
Both of those covers are stunning. Geez, so many books, so little time. If I hope to read all the books I've been hearing about, I'm simply gonna have to live forever. Or figure out how to make do without taking time for any of those pesky things like eating and sleeping.
Wonderful covers! Congratulations to both!
excited about both these books!
ysy laura & ciara!
Susan - I feel that way from time to time, too. Especially when so many cool ones come out close together.
Elizabeth and Tara - Exactly!
Congrats to Laura and Ciara!!
Congrats to Laura and Ciara!
Cherie and Emily - Yes!
Is Spring the time of publishing new books? Seems like everything is launching something these days.
DWei - I guess it must be. Seems like a million books came out in February.
