Oh, How I Miss You Blogfest
Hosted by Andrew Leon, Matthew MacNish, and Alex J. Cavanaugh
I really wanted to participate in this blogfest ... it's all about letting our blogging buddies know how special they are. But the date fell on a Friday, the day I reserve for the Top Ten.
What was I to do?
Duh! Read on and pay attention. There may be test ...
The top two bloggers I miss and why:
Carrie at Carrie On Carrying On
I love Carrie's easy style and the way she writes about her home and family. I also love the Adventures of Roz and all Carrie's awesome photos. Sadly, Carrie is experiencing some health issues.
Take care of yourself Carrie, and hurry back to blog world.
Elspeth Antonelli at It's a Mystery
Elspeth is taking a sabbatical from blogging to, actually - you know - write! Kudos to Elspeth, but I miss her wit and snarky humor :) Most of all, I miss her sheep. Sigh.
and
The top two bloggers I WOULD miss if they stopped blogging:
Elizabeth Spann Craig at Mystery Writing Is Murder
Omigosh! I learn so much from Elizabeth's posts. And from her guest bloggers, too. I don't always comment there, but I nearly always read. I've been following Elizabeth almost since I first started blogging. BONUS ... She writes cool books, too :)
LD Masterson
What can I say? She's funny, she's sweet, she makes me laugh and go aww all in the same blog post. To top it off, she's an all-around good person. I miss her posts when she goes on a break, so I know I would miss her if she stopped blogging.
and
I'm stretching the rules a teeeny bit ...
The #1 blogger who better never stop blogging, lest I send Vinnie and Joe Bob to convince him otherwise:
Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh
No. Words. Necessary.
Did you pay attention?
Here's the test.
How many bloggers are listed above?
How many explanations or lack thereof are stated above?
What is the total of bloggers and explanations or lack thereof?
Ta-Da!
Friday's Top Ten Strikes Again :)

Ten! Ten! Yes, I counted. :)
Wonderful list. I picked Alex as well for the "miss if he stopped" catagory. This is a great blogfest!
Aw, thank you Carol! Don't send Vinnie and Joe Bob - I won't quit.
I'd miss Elizabeth as well. She was one of my first followers.
I knew there was something I forgot to do today on my blog. I was going to participate but then forgot when I wrote Cool Links Friday. It didn't help that I couldn't remember (ha!) who I miss and there are too many blogs that I would miss if they disappeared.
Great list!
In my three years of blogging I've noticed that lots of people come and go, and only the few of us stay brave and strong in the blogosphere :) I'm proud to have a few of the bloggers who have been with me from the very beginning. And lots of bloggers have learn the trade from me during these years, some of them even became the most popular ones in this blogging world of ours. That's nice.
Ten! Yes Alex would be sorely missed!
I'm with you with Alex. And there's so much on our blogging agenda, it's no wonder anyone has time to write.
Love LD and who isn't crazy about Alex.
I would miss so many people if they stopped blogging. Some have stopped, and now I'm holding a grudge against them until they come back. :P
Maybe, as a result of this blogfest, some of our absentee bloggers will return.
Wish I could have participated in this blogfest. I'm with everyone else on Alex and with you on Elizabeth.
Karen
And they say math isn't a creative pursuit. Well done, you! (And an exemplary to ten to boot)
Have a great weekend!
Uh, TOP ten. That should read TOP ten. :)
I love this idea for a blogfest!
Laura - I think so, too!
Alex - I sent them a text :)
Stina - It was HARD choosing!
Teresa - Thanks.
Dez - A few of my active followers have been around since the beginning for me, too. I'm coming up on the four-year mark. I love new and old alike :)
Great list and I love the test at the end! You are fun ;D
I would definitely miss Carrie, too.
Happy Friday, Carol!
You sneaky mathematician you, you got ten in there somehow! Love it!
Carolyn - By everyone, I think :)
Em-Musing - Writing time is often scarce around the Tiki Hut.
Isis - Yes! Good to see you :)
L.G. - I can relate to the grudge thing, LOL!
Susan - Wouldn't that be wonderful!
I always enjoy LD's groaners and other jokes. She rarely fails to make me laugh.

Tossing It Out
Hi Carol .. great choices - it's just sad when they're not around longer .. but love Elizabeth's informative posts ..
.. great selection - cheers Hilary
A couple of new names here for me to check out and who wouldn't miss Alex?!
Karen - I know what you mean. I pass on a lot of cool blogfests because I just have no time.
VR - I had to count more than once :)
Jennifer - I thought it was a cool idea, too :)
Ella - Thanks! Probably a tiny bid OCD, too :)
Emily - She's very cool :)
Carol, you're SO cool! I just adore you!
And great list... really... it's amazing how attached we can get to some of our bloggers! :)
Thanks so much for the mention, Carol!! I'd miss you, too. :)
I miss Elspeth and her sheep, too. I hope she's getting gobs of writing done. Occasionally, she posts on Blood Red Pencil (think she's on a rota there?)
You know, I get jealous every time I visit your blog (miss the ocean)? But you have such a great post here, I'll let that fact slide. Great choices, and you'd be missed too. :)
Linda K - Somewhere!
Arlee - Same here for me.
Hilary - I agree about sad. Ciara Knight posted about Jane Sutton. Made me cry.
Suzanne - Very cool :) And yay Alex!
Morgan - *blushing* Thanks for such kind words :) We do get more attached to some. Just the same as we do with real life friends.
Elizabeth - Aw, shucks :) I hope Elspeth is getting lots of writing done, too.
Oh no I can't count! :)
I think everyone would miss Alex!

Elizabeth was my choice today. If Alex stopped blogging, the Internet would break! Think he learned how to blog on his own though and certainly understands friendship.
And I've been blogging for almost eight years. Only other person who'd been around that long that's still around is Jay Noel.
Good choices, but I'll betcha had a devil of a time narrowing it down. I really miss Carrie, too.
Those are some seriously awesome people you've listed. I agree!
Was I really not following? I could've sworn I'd been here before.
There are so many great people I'd miss. Glad the Tiki Hut has reopened. :)
LOVE your tribute to Alex. So. True. And he's on my list, too. Big surprise.
David - I visit blogs that make me a little jealous sometimes, too. I love the ocean - if you couldn't tell :)
Anna - No worries :)
Nutschell - I think so, too.
Diane - Eight years! I'm humbled.
Susan - I did have a hard time! This blogfest was more difficult than it sounded.
Carol: Alex is a given. None of us writers want him to stop blogging! After all, Alex has changed lives and he continues to change lives. I love Alex! The inspiration, support and encouragement from the Ninja Captain is undeniable!
Great choices! :)
I know three of the five you've mentioned. I should drop in on the other two.
Have a great weekend.
I love how you combined this with your Friday's Top list! Talk about clever! Julie
Livia - Everyone is showing Alex lots of love today!
J.L. - Do it!
Julie - Thanks.
Ha! I love your Top Ten/Blogfest combination. :) And great blog picks.
I love blog recommendations! I will check them all out. I have to admit, though, that I'd totally miss your blog if you ever stopped! Your posts are so uplifting and inspiring for writers. :)
Nicely done! I haven't visited all these blogs, so will have to (well, the ones who are posting).
Shannon at The Warrior Muse
I feel so bad -- I was gonna sign up for this blogfest and give my support, but life got too crazy for a couple days and I spaced it all out. Sigh. So this weekend I'll make amends and say hi to lots of bloggers.
And yes, Alex is amazing.
Golden Eagle - Best I could come up with :)
Raquel - Thank you. That means a lot. I love your blog, too.
Shannon - Great! Enjoy :)
Helena - Totally understand about life getting crazy.
I'd definitely miss Carrie too! And Alex!
Great list! I wish I could have participated in the blogfest. Sounds great.
I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
And I don't know what we'd do if the Ninja Captain stopped blogging. Definitely "No. Words. Necessary." :)
Elizabeth and Alex have been mentioned often.
Cool list! I couldn't imagine Alex ever giving up blogging, so the question of missing him didn't arise!
Joylene - Nice to meet you!
Brenda Kay - This blogfest has been fun! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, too :)
Cherie - We'd all freak and talk about him for weeks :)
Ciara - I've seen them, too. I also saw Jane mentioned on a few other blogs.
Damyanti - Now that's faith! Nice to meet you.
Hi, Carol,
LOVED your poem! Nicely said.
I bent the rules a bit too... How could one possibly chose only 3! Impossible!
Such a creative way to do the hop! Way to go.
Michael - Thanks. Totally agree about three being impossible.
Elizabeth - I liked YOUR post!
Please Miss Carol, I may have to re-sit the test and get my mum to write you a note of excuse! LOL!
But yay for these fab bloggers and especially. The. Cap'n. Ninja. And. His. Hot. Tamales! Ahem!
Take care
x
Thanks for the recommendations.. A couple of bloggers I'm going to check out now. Xx
Hahaha. Hope you had a great weekend, Carol! And have a wonderful holiday coming up. :)
Old Kitty - Funny! And who doesn't like a man with hot tamales :)
Michelle - Cool!
Julie - You, too, Julie.
Thanks for the introduction to such great bloggers! They sound fun!
And a good one! Your Friday's Top Ten!
