Friday's Top Ten

The top ten things I eat for breakfast when I should eat plain Greek yogurt with cereal and fresh fruit:

10. Nachos

  9. Donuts

  8. Cold pizza

  7. Eggo waffles

  6. Cheese toast with lotsa cheese

  5. Cookies

  4. PB&J

  3. Cinnamon toast

  2. Cold chicken

And the #1 thing I eat for breakfast when I should eat plain Greek yogurt with cereal and fresh fruit:

  1. Bacon, eggs, and biscuits made by Live-In Handyman

What about you? What do you eat that you shouldn't. You can tell me . . . no one else will ever know :)

Granola. Nothing wrong with granola unless I eat so much I get bloated and gassy. I'm not nice to around then. But I love granola with cold milk so much, I can't stop.

*whimper* I used to eat like that. Now I eat oatmeal.

What's wrong with cold pizza and peanut butter and jelly? Maybe not together...

I eat oatmeal for breakfast and I love it. And I don't mean the instant oatmeal that you just add water to. I can't survive without my oatmeal and flax seeds (ground) for breakfast. :D

Because my son is on ADHD medication (and really does need it), his appetite is shot after he takes it. So he eats several meals for breakfast. He loves tortellini for breakfast . . . and chocolate (which he always sneaks).

I love breakfast all day long.

A mix of bacon/egg/chutney/cocktail sausage is a good and filling brunch treat now and again... and it keeps you going for most of the day too!!

The list of things I should eat would be a lot shorter lol.

Heehee, good ones.

I start craving pumpkin donuts around this time of year. Pumpkin is healthy.

My girl's snacks for school- LOL. They get the best treats. Great top ten.

Oh, I used to do all those things, but now, it's egg white omelette and fresh fruit for me.

Am I missing something here? What's wrong with that list of breakfast items? Cold chicken for breakfast is the bomb...got my mouth watering. ;-)

Have a great weekend, Carol. Bring on the doughnuts!

I only have a light breakfast as I'm not my best in the mornings, But if I'm away I do like my English Breakfast"

No sugar in the morning for me. *cringes* Must have protein infusion, usu. 2 sausage links & an egg. My fave breakfast is fried chicken, hot not cold, which I allow myself once a year, which is why I can't wait for 2013. :)

Em-Musing - I like granola OK, but my fave cereal is Grape Nuts. No sugar.

Laura - I like oatmeal, but I rarely think to eat it. Plus I like it with sugar.

Alex - I see nothing wrong - LOL!

Stina - Hmmm...I love tortellini, but never had it for breakfast. Something new to try :)

Emily R. King said...

Now I want donuts and bacon. Ha!

Carol Kilgore said...

Teresa - As you can see, I don't really like breakfast food even at breakfast - LOL.

Michelle - Sounds yummy!

Delores - I little to no self-control when it comes to food. Sigh.

LR - Exactly!

I eat PBJ's almost every morning. Well, almond butter and jam on homemade bread. Yum. When I'm bad, I go for the sweet stuff like cinnamon rolls and danish. Ooh, or an apple fritter. mmmmm...

I don't see anything with your list at all!! I'd rather have all of those things over plain yogurt too! I have been known to eat rocky road ice cream with my rice cripsy cereal. It's good, trut me!

CATachresis said...

I would have an all English breakfast if I good be faffed to do it lol. Instead it’s boring home made muesli with banana and grapes!

Carol Kilgore said...

Summer - "Can I have a bite? My mom ate my snack." LOL!

Karen - Not an egg fan. I eat them, but not often.

Linda G - Yummmm...

Linda J - I know, right?

J.L. - Thanks! You, too. With donuts :)

DEZMOND said...

ah, gotta admit that as a disciplined vegetarian :) I always, but really always, eat some whole grain bread with light cheese spread :) and some black tea with honey and lemon for my breaky :)
I don't drink coffee, don't eat meat, fat, candy... :)
You hate me now, yes? :P

Nachos for breakfast? Don't think I could do that but the rest I get! I actually quite like greek yogurt with fruit too. Have a lovely weekend.

Carol Kilgore said...

I'm having a heck of a time getting back here today. Lots of interruptions.

Yvonne - I'm not sure what an English breakfast is. I'll go look in a bit.

VR - My dad used to like fried chicken in the morning. I cannot function enough in the a.m. to fry chicken, so it would have to be cold for me. I don't fry chicken that often, but I do love it :)

Emily - TaDa! Bacon donuts!!!

L.G. - I'm not much for those kinds of sweet things. I like plain cake donuts. I've never had almond butter - will need to look for it!

Carol Kilgore said...

Linda K - Now Rocky Road with Rice Krispy topping sounds great!

CATachresis - I really need to find out what comprises an English breakfast. No clue. Anyone want to fill me in?

Dez - Oh no! I admire you! I have no control with food. I love the tastes and textures and colors. Some of you needs to rub off on me. Ummm...that didn't sound quite right. You know what I mean - some of your food discipline.

Suzanne - I enjoy Greek yogurt and fruit, too. But it's quite bland after a few days. I need something savory and/or spicy.

Six days out of the week I have oatmeal, usually with blueberries and toast.(that's okay, because I love oatmeal)On Saturdays we will have either pancakes or sausage gravy and biscuits. Yum

Raquel.Somatra said...

Oh, god. What don't I eat that I shouldn't?

For starters, Nutella. By the spoonful.

Secondly, homemade mac and cheese. Which I shall be having for breakfast today.

Cake for breakfast has happened. Many times.

This is why I faithfully hit the gym 4 days a week, hahaha....

Carol Kilgore said...

LD - Decadent!

Janet - Good for you!

Raquel - I no longer buy Nutella...for that very reason.

Tammy Theriault said...

I think I just read about a heart attack lol! That was too funny! I'm definitely not one that can eat anything other than hot cereal, oatmeal or eggs for breakfast or I feel my stomach churn all day. Not sure why...because if I could have it my way, those top tens would be mine (but I would oventoast that pizza) :)

Carol Kilgore said...

Tammy - I try to eat right. But I get so bored with yogurt, fruit, cereal. Oatmeal. Sometimes I have bagel, muffin, or toast. Or only coffee. So I scavenge :)

Old Kitty said...

Cold pizza, cold roast potatoes, plenty of ketchup!!! Washed down with a glass of Bucks Fizz! LOL!

Take care

Medeia Sharif said...

I eat hash browns sprinkled with lots of cheese, meanwhile I feel bad about ignoring my cereal boxes and soy milk.

Nas said...

Great top ten! I do try to eat right but .....

Carol Kilgore said...

Old Kitty - Yea! Another kindred spirit :)

Medeia - The cereal boxes get over being ignored :)

Nas - Totally get that!

Ciara said...

Coffee is my breakfast. My stomach isn't ready for food in the mornings. I like your *1, though. I've never heard of anyone eating nachos for breakfast. :)

Carol Kilgore said...

Ciara - To be fair, my nachos are a handful of tortilla chips in a bowl with cheese on top that I nuke long enough to melt the cheese. Then I put either salsa or a few sliced jalapenos from a jar on top. Some mornings all I have is coffee, too.
