Hi. Captain Gabe Duran. Corpus Christi Fire Department. How are you?
When Carol created me for IN NAME ONLY, she said she didn't know much about firefighters except they put out fires and made sexy calendars. I told her if she wanted to write about us, she needed to learn. She set me aside for a few weeks, and when she came back, she knew what we were made of. And she didn't waste any time.
She brought in a couple of beers, sat down across from me, and said, "Talk. I want to know everything about you."
"I'm a busy man. What's in it for me?"
She showed me a photo of Summer Newcombe. "This woman is going to need your help."
What can I say? By the time I finished talking, Carol knew it all - even some things that were probably better left secret seeing all the trouble they caused.
Today Carol's over at Elizabeth Spann Craig's blog, Mystery Writing Is Murder. She didn't say, but I know she'd like you to stop in and say hi if you have time.
Good talking to you. I'm on duty today, and I need to work out. Unless we get a call, I'll be around.

Ooooh, may I watch Gabe work out? *waggles eyebrows*
Is Gabe in one of those calendars? :)
Linda G - If there's more than one of us working out, you may want to wear ear plugs. We talk a lot of smack to pass the time.
Cate - I'm not on a calendar. But all the calendar proceeds go to a good cause.
Tell Gabe I'll be visiting his town in a few weeks and to keep the beaches safe.
On the way over Carol...
Slamdunk - Our ambulances get more calls to the beach than we would like. Stop by the station!
Hey, here in Colorado firefighters are true heroes! But Gabe sounds like an especially virile, handsome one...(sigh)
I give in. I'm getting In Name Only.
Nothing better than a fireman who works out!
Hot hot hot!

Howdy, Gabe!! You can save me from a fire any time. I'm loving your book so far.
Helena - Wildfire firefighters are everyone's hero. And I'm just a guy doing his job. Carol will be happy you want to read her book.
Johanna - I'd rather watch a girl.
Nutschell - I'm guessing you mean the weather? We haven't had a call-out today.
Linda K - I hope I never need to save you, so stay safe. I'm glad you're liking our story.
Gabe sounds dreamy. I'm off to Elizabeth's blog.
LOL Carol, I think he's a bit in awe of you or maybe frightened. Did you take a whip with you?
Ciara - Sorry to be late responding. We had a call-out. Someone's grill lit up a fence. I'm dirty and sweaty now. Maybe the dreamy should be a nightmare.
Shelley - Carol helped me get my act together. I'm thankful for that.
Hey, Gabe, do you rescue kittens from trees? I'll be happy to go climb one.
LD - Call it in and we'll roll.
I think I'm in love... :)
Gabe sounds like hot stuff. I'm glad you got to know him better.
I'll check out the link.
Talli - Now I know you're playing :)
Medeia - Well, I am hot now. Just finished another workout. Time for a shower.
You are so creative, Carol. Sorry, Gabe. ;) I enjoyed your interview and suggestions (left a comment). You're good!
Okay, 'never say my name' is now downloaded to my kindle. Can't wait to read it! :)
CarrieBoo - Hey, no problem. Carol said to tell you thanks.
I'll stop by Elizabeth's blog and say hello!
Stephen - She'll enjoy seeing you.
