These are all wonderful things about Christmas. I'd say kids probably love snow around Christmas too.

Terrific list. It's funny how I still feel a little zing of excitement when I think of no school during the holidays... and I LIKED school. :)
Have a great weekend!
Great list! I love cookies!
You nailed that one!
Merry Christmas!

Mason - I agree...if they live someplace that gets snow.
VR - I still remember that feeling, too.
Summer - Me, too :)
Arlee - Thanks. Merry Christmas to you, too.
And presents too! LOL
This year I like not having to cook. :)
Have a great weekend!
I love Christmas Eve - one of the most magical nights ever!
Not many surprises there, except the Advent calendar. I did not realize that many kids are into that. I think they are neat and we did a wonderful one for the local art center. Had kids, and adults, paint something on each of the calendar squares. It is a big, wooden calendar that we put up in one of the windows of the center. So cool.
I absolutely love the lights, lights on trees, lights in the windows, around doors…
I'm still a kid and love all those things. For the kid in me, I'd add music.
This week, I've given the kids in my room large pieces of wrapping paper and lots (and lots and lots)of masking tape. They've wrapped every toy and presented their 'gifts' to each other and to us. Fun!
I love Christmas Eve -- and lights!
I would add to your list -- everything shiny (five golden rings anyone?)
Except that on Christmas Eve, they're like monkeys on acid!
I love Christmas too, everything you mentioned! My daughter's favorites were pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and seeing the window displays on Union Square in S.F.
Great list! i like to think of myself as an adult and even that list makes me giddy
Once they're teenagers all they really care about is #4. Oh, and all the extra food that's around the house. Presents don't hurt either.
Great list. :)
Cookies--I love to bake and frost and eat Christmas cookies--it makes it Christmas!
Jennifer - Of course! I'm not cooking this year either. Yea for us :)
Talli - I agree.
Maryann - Your advent calendar sounds very cool.
Holly - So do I. Lights are the icing on the Christmas cake.
Words Crafter - Excellent task for the kids. They learn the basics and have fun doing so. I agree about the music. Looks as if I should have done the Top 12 :)
Colette - Oops...make it the Top 13!
Alex - I laughed out loud. Seriously. It's the absolute perfect image :)
Kathy - I've never eaten pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. But I'm going to search for a recipe.
Joanna - Thanks!
Elspeth - I'm laughing. But it's true.
Golden Eagle - I'm happy you enjoyed it.
Conda - mmmmm...I feel a cookie attack coming on :)
Wait a minute ... KIDS love about Christmas? I must be a kid at heart, because I second all of these :)
I love Santa, but can't we put cookies in the list twice?
;)
Carol - What a fun list. My 10 and 8 year old are still gung ho on convincing their firneds that THEY are wrong. Santa does exist.
Santa, of course.
& Christmas lights! I love Christmas lights, the more the merrier! Yes, the multi-colored lights are my favorite.
Joanne - Funny thing...I do, too :)
Lydia - I don't see why not. We'll just extend the list.
RaShelle - Good for your kids! As long as they believe, Santa will always be magic.
Lisa - We have a mix of multi-color and white. I like them both.
Christmas lights, candles & music = perfection!
I agree.
Merry Christmas!
hi Carol,
Great list. But I have to say that my favorite is Christmas songs and that includes the carolers. In Spain they still have that tradition (usually kids do it and people give them cookies, sweets, or some coins). I think is a beautiful tradition that is fading more and more every year. Merry Christmas!
That sounds nice about the kids caroling. I've been listening to a lot of Christmas music this week. Merry Christmas to you, too.
